I just got done attending Simon’s Fine Art Photography Class and what a treat this was!! Simon is such a down to earth talented instructor and amazing photographer. I was blown away by the quality of his setups in fact Simons whole team was just phenomenal. I felt so relaxed and had so much fun learning!! Simon’s Classes are a game changer! If you want to improve your photography skills, from beginner (like me) to experienced in photography you will not be disappointed! I will be back for more classes in the near future….

If I had only one word to describe my experience at this 2 days workshop, I would use “illuminating”. Simon Diez is a diamond hidden on the plain site. As a photographer, he showed lighting with a straightforward approach, but with brilliant results. He knows his lighting in and out, no matter the lighting situation, he always comes out with a beautiful and perfectly lit picture. As a person, he likes to explore the best version of you, the photographer, modules, artists, and any other talent out there. If you want to learn from Simon or be photographed by him, models trained by him and oriented by him. Book it, you won’t be the same after taking his workshop. I had the opportunity to take a full workshop and a one on one and I have learned more from him than in any other workshop I have taken. With Simon, he demonstrates how to light and then he makes you do it on your own. Hands on learning is how I learn and he definitely pushed me to become better. BOOK HIM!!

Simon is a treasure as a photo educator and a photographer. I recently took his 1:1 workshop and I was blown away by the amount and quality of information he presented. His relaxed and easy manner makes it all seem simple as well and he doesn't overcomplicate things, including lighting. Description goeIf all it would take to create a masterful piece of art was to write a check, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Well, that's sort of what it was like working with Simon in his two day workshop. I can watch all the best tutorials on the web but until I am actually hands on, I'll never fully grasp the level of detail required to create the great works Simon does. Working with him at my side, I was able to observe the nuances given to light placement and posing arrangements, as well as makeup and wardrobe details. I came away from his two day workshop feeling more confident and secure in my ability to create great art. I then returned to my studio and used what I learned to create this image. I especially payed attention to foot placement and pedal placement while also focusing on being sure the hands were relaxed and placed in an eye pleasing alignment. I asked the client to gaze into nothingness while locking his eyes on the lens. I even tossed if a gold scarf I had laying around to pull this whole thing together. Thank you, Simon. I attended a workshop put on by Simon, if you're looking to raise the bar in your own photography, I highly recommend working with him either one on one or in a workshop , totally worth every dollar.

I still have a ton to learn and a long way to go but every time I work with him I come away with a better understanding of light and editing. His workshops are very informative and even in a workshop environment he still manages to give you some one on one time.

Worth every penny.

I attened Simon Diez's wookshop last weekend. It was an intense two days of learning the nuances of light, how to modify it, and where to place it. We also learned some applicable Photoshop skills that were a bit different then what I was doing, and a bit faster! We also practised our lighting skills on each other, and professional models. I've been wanting to improve my portrait skills and this class did help me gain some skills to create more painterly portraits. I highly recomend Simon's course to anyone who wishes to improve their studio photography skills.

This is a perfect workshop for the intermediate photographer who wants to learn studio lighting and Lightroom/Photoshop skills to process. If you're at his home studio/garage, three walls are filled with lighting modifiers, and you get instruction on how to use them. He's got amazing amounts of accessories and clothes. His makeup artist is just wonderful, and is an amazing model as well.

I attended Simon Diaz’s PAINTERLY CONCEPTUAL PORTRAIT workshop in sept, 2019. It is amazing as he leads you through the process of turning a photograph into a story--- he gently pushes you to get inspired and form a concept of a picture story in our brain and then press forward with lighting foremost! I had the great pleasure of attending the Fine Art & Painterly workshop by Simon in South Carolina. I don't even know where to begin with this experience. I learned how to go from creative concept to client interaction to finished art in two of the most intensive and mind blowing days of instruction that I've had since embarking on my journey as a professional photographer. I used to just photograph people. Now I see and study light and MAKE art. Art that asks to be displayed and tells a story! If this man offers a class and you don't sign up, then all I have to say is I'm sorry for you. This is one of those times when you just have to do it.
